Ajax have revived their attempt to sign Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea, who has been targeted as Antony’s replacement.

The Moroccan winger joined the Blues from Ajax for £38million in 2020 but has since struggled to carve out a regular first team spot in Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Ziyech has dropped further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the summer arrival of Raheem Sterling, who scored twice in the Blues’ 2-1 win against Leicester on Saturday.

Alongside the ex-Man City star, the 29-year-old is continuing to fight with Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi for a spot in Tuchel’s front three.

Sportsmail revealed on Sunday that Ajax are finally ready to accept Manchester United’s £84m offer for star winger Antony, and the Dutch side have already lined up Ziyech as a potential replacement on Alfred Schreuder’s right-hand side.

Although the Red Devils had a £74m bid rejected on Friday, Antony is keen to reunite with his former boss Erik ten Hag and it seems Ajax are ready to part ways with their Brazilian winger.

The Eredivisie giants left Antony out of their matchday squad to face Utrecht on Sunday.

The 22-year-old has scored two and assisted two during his first three matches in all competitions this season, having netted 12 times last campaign.

Meanwhile, Ziyech remains scoreless having played for only 26 minutes under Tuchel so far this season.
