Astros vs. White Sox scores, results: Houston knocks out AL Central champs in Game 4

The Houston Astros are heading to their fifth consecutive American League Championship series after eliminating the Chicago White Sox in Game 4 of their ALDS matchup on Tuesday. The Astros won Game 1 and Game 2 at home before closing out the series in Chicago. Houston will face the Boston Red sox in the ALCS with a trip to the 2021 World Series on the line. The AL Central champion White Sox, meanwhile, are heading home for the winter.

The Astros finished the regular season with the most potent offense in the majors, as determined by FanGraphs’ wRC+ measure. (wRC+ is an advanced metric that adjusts for ballpark, among other variables.) Houston had the lowest strikeout rate in the majors despite boasting a healthy walk rate and a top-10 isolated slugging.
