Since first launching her label in 2017, Danielle Hirsch of Danielle Frankel has found success in shaking up the bridal world; she helped to redefine wedding style with offerings that are as modern as they are elegant. In recent collections, Hirsch has hinted at a departure from bridal in her designs—pieces like silk separates, lace trench coats, and dark-hued gowns that are so cool, brides want to wear them long after their wedding day.

Now, Hirsch officially departs from solely bridal offerings with the launch of her inaugural loungewear collection. “We have so many clients who wish to support the label but either doesn’t need to purchase a wedding gown right now, are already married, or aren’t engaged,” Hirsch tells Vogue. “Lounge was the perfect entrance into a new vocabulary for us and to reach our woman outside the realm of bridal.” With the lounge sets all ringing in under $400, the capsule gives Danielle Frankel fans more opportunity to wear to the brand.

The six-piece capsule collection features sumptuous silk lounge sets in a rich brown, elegant blue, and of course, white. There are long-sleeved sets with pants, a short set with a beautifully draped halter neck top and flowing back. There’s also a delicate white lace robe that has equal appeal for a bride as for customers who just like a luxe detail, “I envision a woman owning a few of the colorways and sets and styling them as layers. It was also really important to me that these looks could be worn outside the house and incorporated into one’s wardrobe,” says Hirsch, who, at our meeting, looked polished in the brown long-sleeved lounge set and humbly divulged how people had been stopping her on the street to ask where her outfit was from prior to our meeting.

The timing for Danielle Frankel’s new capsule is smart. As the world continues to open up, there’s an appetite for comfort-first clothing polished enough to be worn out—a difficult balance to strike. Plus, the holiday season is fast approaching. “I thought this would be a great moment to add a product range that extends our brand into this new category of ready-to-wear. Lounge makes for a perfect gift for both oneself or a loved one,” says Hirsch.

This capsule is just the beginning. Hirsch plans to continue dipping her toes into the non-bridal pool. “The more we explore the blurred lines between bridal, evening, and ready to wear, the more we have the ability to understand the woman we are dressing and the needs within her wardrobe. This is just the beginning of that exploration,” she says.
