KATIE Price begged to do two huge reality shows during an interview on Aussie radio – and got shot down live on air.
The glamour model, 44, appeared on Australia’s number one breakfast show, Kyle and Jackie O, where she was grilled about whether she has signed on to do the Aussie version of I’m A Celebrity.
The local spin-off films in South Africa and has previously starred the likes of Vicky Pattison, Joey Essex and Charlotte Crosby, and is currently teasing that a big UK female celeb has signed up.
“I want to do that one! I would love to do it, of course,” she told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. “I have done the jungle twice in England. The only reason I left the second one is because the public kept voting me every day to do the challenges.”
Katie denied she was doing it this time around though.
“I am definitely not,” she said, before Kyle said he would call the show’s producer Stephen Tate, who also happens to produce the Aussie version of The Masked Singer.
“I’ll put it on him and ask him why he hasn’t asked me to it,” Katie said as they phoned Stephen live on air.
As Kyle made the introduction, he told Stephen that Katie had told him noone rang her.
“Oh, well I think we have in the past,” Stephen awkwardly explained.
“You definitely haven’t, there is absolutely no way you have,” Katie shot back. “I would love to do it. And the Masked Singer. I’ll do that as well.”
Stephen replied: ” We definitely have called you. Well, we have called your management in the UK.”
“Really?” Katie asked, surprised. “Well, I’m intrigued who you called.”
Stephen then brutally shot Katie down, saying: “What I also need to tell you is that this season is actually already cast.”
“Well it would be, it’s airing soon,” Jackie confirmed, before Kyle suggested Katie could come in as a surprise intruder.
“That would be great but you are ruining her chances because nobody can know about her, remember we need to do it as a surprise,” Stephen pointed out.
Changing the subject back to I’m A Celebrity, Katie quizzed Stephen, saying: “Have you actually got an English girl going in?”
“Er, we have got an English person going in,” he responded.
As the hosts and Katie tried to guess who the mystery person was, Stephen remained tight lipped.
Katie then gave it one more try, saying she loves all the Australian reality shows, including Love Island.
Kyle then informed her that Stephen doesn’t work on that show as it’s on a rival network.
