Royal Family LIVE: William sends message to Harry and Meghan with massive commercial win | Royal | News

The Duke of Cambridge has written the foreword to Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet, and it has now surged to the summit of the online retailer’s bestseller list in several categories such as Animal Habitats and the Environment. This book aims to inspire several more years of action to repair the planet and is also the first publication in the royal’s decade-long global environmental competition; the Earthshot Prize. Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet is co-authored by WWF’s former executive director, Colin Butfield, and award-winning producer/director Jonnie Hughes.

It is being released alongside an upcoming, five-part TV series to be broadcast on BBC One in the autumn.

But the resounding success of the new book suggests how much value being a member of the Royal Family still holds amongst millions of people.

It comes just months after Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge saw her book Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020, jump to the top of the bestseller list on the first day of its release.

The book, which features 100 final ‘poignant and personal’ portraits selected from 31,000 entrants, also became the second highest-selling book out of all titles on Amazon.

Meghan Markle’s children’s book The Bench, which was released in June, topped The New York Times Best Seller list after a week but only reached number three on Amazon’s USA bestsellers list.

Prince Harry’s hotly-anticipated memoir, which will see him document the “experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that have helped shape” him into who he is today, is due for release next year.
