‘The Lost Ones’: Celebrating Mark Evans’ silhouette at Jimmy’s in Liverpool

Our adidas Originals ‘The Lost Ones’ series is back, and this year, we have combined it with the winners of the ‘Create Your Own’ competition from last year. There were some incredible silhouettes from the ten chosen finalists, showcasing the creativity and effort that can go into reimagining the iconic 3-Stripe canvas.

The winner – Mark Evans – designed an adidas Originals Trimm Star that is a tribute to his wife, who unfortunately was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer 4 years ago. Inspired by the colours of the Thyroid Cancer ribbon, this shoe represents the journey that he and his wife ventured on after the diagnosis.

To celebrate this powerful silhouette and story, we will be hosting a gig at Jimmy’s Bar in Liverpool on the 18th of September, 19:30 – 22:30. Once again, we have smashed it with the roster for this event, and we can’t wait to see you all there. So, let’s introduce you to the line-up…

Spinn

One of the leading names in Liverpool’s contemporary indie scene, Spinn are a Dream Pop four-piece with the world at their feet. First formed in 2015, the band have developed a dreamy sound with jangly guitars, poignant lyrics, and an essence of nostalgia oozes through their music. Throughout their tunes, you’ll hear influences from the likes of The Smiths, Orange Juice and The La’s, all blended together with a forward-thinking contemporary sound. Hailing from a city with a rich musical heritage, they are worthy candidates to keep Liverpool’s musical legacy powering on.

Dirty Circus

Fresh from the release of their debut album What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Worse, Wigan’s cult heroes Dirty Circus return after an eagerly anticipated wait. First rising to popularity in the late 00s, their CV boasts an impressive Columbia Records deal, Happy Mondays tour support, and Glastonbury performance. Parting ways before they could really take off, however, after 10 years they’re now back – and with an army of fans at their disposal – ready to take over.

Fauna

Receiving airplay from the likes of Radio X and BBC Music Introducing, Manchester-based quartet Fauna blend a classic indie sensibility with some personal sentiments. Featuring on several emerging indie playlists, as well as this year’s Sound City line-up, they’re certainly standing out as ones to watch from a city brimming with talent.

Fiona Lennon

With a name like Lennon, there’s a certain expectation when coming out of Liverpool. Unphased, however, Fiona’s soul-soaked style takes inspiration from classics such as The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac, and more contemporary sounds like The Corrs and Alicia Keys. The result, a modern sound steeped in timeless melody.
