Victor Wembanyama’s sister Eve is on cloud nine after the Frenchman was selected by the Spurs with the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday.
Eve, who is also a basketball player in France, shared a collage of candid photos with their family at the draft, which took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as well as the private afterparty.
“Can’t believe this ain’t a dream,” the 21-year-old wrote over the post on her Instagram Story.
Eve gained thousands of Instagram followers after she caught the attention of NBA Twitter on Thursday night.
After Wembanyama’s emotional interview with ESPN, which included heartfelt praise from Eve, she went from 13,000 followers to upwards of 22,000 overnight.
The curly-haired brunette documented the family’s New York adventures on social media leading up to the draft.
Wembanyama’s siblings, including his 16-year-old brother Oscar, who also plays basketball, were overcome with emotion while sitting with him during an interview with ESPN’s Monica McNutt.
“It’s amazing,” Eve said when asked about seeing her brother get drafted first overall.
“We’re all so proud. We’re very happy for family, friends, for everything and basketball.”


Eve plays for the Monaco Basket Association, according to her Instagram.
In February, the 6-foot-1 forward was getting buckets at the Fiba three-on-three women’s series final.
Eve, has represented France at multiple three-on-three events, including the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship and FIBA U20 Women’s European Challengers.

She also competed for the LDLC ASVEL Feminine club of the EuroLeague Women League in 2020.
The French baller appears to have a close relationship with her younger brothers.
